Medical Forum Podcast: Lung Cancer with ChestRad’s Dr Conor Murray

Medical Forum's Clinical Editor, Dr Joe Kosterich, talks with Perth radiologist Dr Conor Murray, from ChestRad, about the latest and upcoming developments in Australian lung cancer screening.

“Lung cancer is the biggest cancer killer of both men and women, and I think that's often a surprising fact,” Dr Murray said.

“All efforts so far, beyond cessation of smoking, have had a trivial effect. The interest in screening for lung cancer with low dose chest CT arose about 20 years ago and the theory or hypothesis was that if you could pick lung cancer up at an earlier stage, then you can extend lives and improve the quality of life.”
